Dmitry Kafanov participating in Eastern Economic Forum

Dmitry Kafanov was a panelist at Law and Greater Competitiveness of the Russian Far East in the APR — one of key sessions within the Eastern Economic Forum which took place on the 2nd and 3rd of September in Vladivostok.

In his speech Dmitry Kafanov showed that it’s essential that the existing Russian legislation on strategic industry investments be changed, as it grew incompliant with the requirements of contemporary political and economic reality.

In particular, Dmitry Kafanov drew attention to the necessity of law harmonization in the sphere of regulation of foreign investment in fisheries that would allow for effective use of opportunities offered by such new investment institutions as Advanced Special Economic Zones and Free Port of Vladivostok. He then suggested simplification of the coordination procedure for foreign investors in the Russian fisheries industry who aim at such territories which enjoy special legal regulation.
