December 1, the Russian Agency of International Information RIA Novosti opened the International Law Congress “Law and Modernization: Experience, Perspectives, Trends” that was held on 01 and 02 of December, 2011. International Law Congress “Law and Modernization: Experience, Perspectives, Trends” that was held in Moscow International Multimedia Press Center of RIA Novosti on 01 and 02 of December, 2011.
The Congress was opened by the Russian Supreme Court Chairman, Vyacheslav LEBEDEV, the Russian Supreme Arbitration Court Chairman, Anton IVANOV, the Russian Audit Chamber Chairman, Sergey Stepashin.
The first day of the Congress was devoted to the topics of “Free Law Assistance Programs Development in Russia”, “Russian Legal Framework in Reality” and “Law and Information Space: Mass Media, Publishing Business, Internet and Cyber-Related Justice”.
The second day of the Congress was completely devoted to thematic sessions. For example, the experts who participated in the Round Table “Legal Business in Regions” expressed an opinion that regional legal companies work in federal cases could improve their efficiency.
Kirill Vozisov expressed his opinion on mutual integration of legal business in central and peripheral regions in the following words:
«Right now I believe creation of affiliates and representative offices of regional legal companies in central cities of Russia (like Moscow or St. Petersburg) to be unnecessary. These ideas could have a counter effect, I mean large legal companies opening their offices in certain regions of the country. National and regional companies would have more productive relations on partnership or subagent terms”.
