The free port of Vladivostok and abolition of the Federal Migration Service (FMS): hope for a better future
Abolition of FMS is rather well-timed and determined by some reasons, which are connected not nearly with an obvious attempt to minimize government costs. In particular, a vector of the development of the Far East and Primorsky region set by the effective law “On the free port of Vladivostok” implies, among other benefits and preferences for domestic and foreign business, removal of administrative barriers while involving foreign specialists in the region.
At the same time, based on the analysis of the existing practice for registration of migration of foreign employees attracted to the Far East, there is no question of the real implementation of a special economic treatment of the free port of Vladivostok.
