The regional event of the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum was held in Vladivostok

The regional event of the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum was held in Vladivostok on the basis of Far Eastern Federal University, on 18 May in the LegalForum Live format. In addition, the event participants, upon approval with organizers of the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum, discussed the issues of the extended agenda including problems relevant to the Far East, as reported by IA PrimaMedia.

The forum held in Vladivostok on 18 May by Inmar Legal Co. jointly with Law School of FEFU with the support of the Russian Lawyers’ Association, can be called traditional. Leading jurists, representatives of commercial jurisprudence and legal government agencies of Primorye meet in the similar format for the third year.

Among participants of this event, there were director of the Federal Bailiff Service Directorate of Russia in Primorsky region — chief bailiff in Primorsky region ALEKSEI KUZNETSOV, chairman of the public council of the Federal Bailiff Service Directorate of Russia in Primorsky region VLADIMIR PETROV being a member of the Public Expert Council for increase of life safety level in Primorsky region, chairman of Primorsky Division of the Russian Lawyers’ Association YURY MELNIKOV, representatives of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Primorsky region, Primorsky Regional Court and Primorsky Notary Chamber, communities of young lawyers etc.

Representatives of Amur Branch of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) were invited as guests, as far as this year the regional event of the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum discussed the problems of law enforcement practice in the area of environmental law, as well as the issues of development of legal decisions with regard to efficient environmental protection, including the marine biosphere (this issue is of particular importance to the Far East).

Among key reports, there were reports primarily connected with antimonopoly regulation, practical steps needed to efficiently implement the tasks of promotion of competition. One of such reports was made by MAKSIM BELOBORODOV, head of the civil law and procedure department at Law School, FEFU, former director of Federal Antimonopoly Service Department in Primorsky region.

Participants of Vladivostok part of the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum also discussed the peculiarities of regulation of fishery activities in the Far East territory. They also discussed the issues associated with administrative barriers in respect of the Far-Eastern business. And touched on the important problem concerning the practice of the Russian Federation Supreme Court in respect of co-funded construction.
ANDREI GORLENKO being the Responsible administrator of the Russian Arbitration Center, who recently opened the Far-Eastern Branch in Vladivostok made a report via video link.

The reports were delivered by KSENIA RUBETS, partner of Inmar Legal Co. (she told about innovations in the federal law “On protection of competition” and brought up the problems connected with improvement of the environmental law), and by EVGENY GOLODENKO, assistant of Inmar Legal Co., who prepared a brief overview of the practice of the Russian Federation Supreme Court for 2017-2018 in respect of the federal law on corporate purchases.

A final resolution was passed at the close of the meeting. It should be noted that some legislative initiatives raised by participants of past regional events of the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum are embodied in statutory acts.
